We will fight to take home the trophy
Maldives Captain Akram A Ganee wows himself and his teammates will fight to win the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 today, against old rivals India. This is the first final for Maldievs in last nine years. The last final for Maldives was in 2009, yet again against India at the same stadium in Bangladesh where Akram lost in the penalty shootout.
“We have struggled in the group stages but we’re in the final now”

Maldives, after a difficult situation in the group stage with India and Sri Lanka, advanced to semifinal on a coin-toss. But in semifinal Maldives has shown their class by beating favorites Nepal three goals to nil in which Akram scored the opener with a wonderful free kick.
“We’re well prepared and we’re going to fight to win the tournament.”
Maldives lost to India in the group stage by 2-0. The match at Bangabadhu National Stadium will kickoff at 1800hrs Madives time.
