Asadulla eyes more trophies with Maziya

Maziya captain Asadulla Abdullah is optimistic that Maziya can add more trophies to their cabinet this season. Dhivehi Primer League Champions Maziya will kick off the new football season this Thursday against FA Cup Champions Club Valencia for this year’s Charity Shield.

Maziya has won the Charity Shield last two seasons and Asadulla eyes to win it a third time in a row.

Speaking exclusively to Maldivesoccer.com, he said that he has been eagerly waiting for the season to kickoff.

“I am waiting for new season to kick off. We want to win the Charity shield for the start and win all trophies of the season. That’s our target”.

Maziya has been strengthened for the new season with four foreign players and a foreign coach for the first time in the history of the club.

“We can already see the difference of a foreign coach from the pre-season training alone”. Assadulla praised his new boss, Marjan Sekulovski of Mecedonia.

He is a well reputed name in the AFC Cup as he has earlier guided two teams of Myanmar, Ayeyawady United and Yangon United.

“I am confident that our side is capable of winning all trophies with this coach who has already shown a difference in the trainings”.

“Apart from that, our foreign players are very strong. We now have a good combination of foreigners and locals”.

“This is the strongest ever squad of Maziya”

As Maldivian league champions Maziya is already in the group stage of this year’s AFC Cup.
