Maldives to play a friendly game against Pakistan

In preparation for the upcoming SAFF Championship, Maldives will its second friendly match against Pakistan today. According to FAM the match will be played at the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The match will kick off at 2200hrs Male time.

Maldives National Team has been training at Qatar since 6th of August with 27 players. Maldives team for SAFF Championship will travel to Dhaka directly from Doha. Maldives head coach Petar Segrt is yet to announce his final 20 players for the SAFF Championship.

Maldives has won the first friendly game of the training camp two weeks back against Qatari second division team Al-Markhiya. Maldives won the game 4-3. Maldives won the game by 4-3.

Todays friendly match against Pakistan will be the final friendly game for Maldives ahead of SAFF Championship. Maldives last played against Pakistan five years back in a friendly game held at Male. Maldives won the game 3-0.

Maldives will kick off SAFF Championship on 7th September against Sri Lanka. Maldives is placed in group B along with Sri Lanka and India while, Pakistan is in Group A with host Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
