He marked his return to the field on Sunday evening against Valencia with a goal less than 10 minutes onto the field. Following his return as a second-half substitute in the comfortable win Assadulla was asked about how he felt being on the field after nearly nine months.
“I never felt that I was out for that long, my teammates and the management never let me down during the injury. They were so close that I feel like I am back after a game played last week”.
Assadulla was introduced in the 72nd minute of the match and it took just seven minutes for him to score a goal. Speaking to media after the game, Assadulla added: “It’s a different feeling, being on the pitch after a long time. It’s the hard work of not only me, but a lot of people, namely my physiotherapist Fitte (Mohamed Fayaz)”.
“Sometimes I feel fitte wanted me back more than I want to be back. I would like to thank him and everyone who stood with me during the time of injury”.
Assadulla was injured during Dhiveh Premier League last season when his side played against Milandhoo. He went a surgery late last year and started trainings with his team few weeks back. He is also a key player in the national squad and he said that he is ready to get back his position in the national team.
