U21 Cup: Eagles 1 – 0 Thinadhoo

Defending Champions Club Eagles wins the opening match of Youth Championship 2017 beating Thinadhoo by a goal. Ahmed Naim scored the only goal for the two times Champion Eagels in the 16th minute of the game.

Speaking exclusively to maldivesoccer, Ahmed Niyaz, Head Coach of Thinadhoo Youth team showed his delightfulness despite losing the game.

“In general, I am fully satisfied with the performance of my side especially against the defending champions”.

On the other hand, Eagles Head Coach Ahmed Shakir congratulated Thinadhoo for their hard work and the exceptional performance.

“I congratulate Thinadhoo for the superb performance”.

“Even though we won the game, the performance was not up to my expectations. We will do better in the in the upcoming games”.

Club Eagles will face Maziya in the their next game while, Thinadhoo  will face United Victory.

Four teams namely Club Eagles, Maziya SR, Thinadhoo and United Victory will battle each other for Youth Championship 2017 crown. The top two teams after six round robin matches will advance to the final of the tournament. The final match is scheduled to play at the National Stadium on Friday, 29th of December.

Maziya will face United Victory in the next match of the tournament. The match is scheduled to play on Saturday afternoon.
