Thinadhoo record narrow win against Maalhos

Jose Avila struck the winning goal for Thinadhoo as they clinched a narrow 1-0 victory in their Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League game against Maalhos at Galolhu National Stadium on Sunday night.

In the opening half, it was all about Thinadhoo as they dominated the proceedings but their attacking players such as Pecharroman, Jose Avila and Ahmed Rizuwan couldn’t find a way past Ibrahim Zameer at Maalhos goal as the latter was up to the mark in the first period.

The best chance for Maalhos in the opening half fell to Ali Waseem in the 33rd minute but his headed attempt was well saved by Thinadhoo Keeper Ruslan Dzhanybekov.

Thinadhoo were unlucky not open the scoring in the opening 20 minutes of the second half as they had two goals disallowed for offside before Jose Avila finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute with a decent finish from inside the box after receiving a decent pass from Ansar Ibrahim.

At the other end, almost immediately after the goal, Maalhos had a decent opportunity for an equalizer but a brilliant clearance from Thinadhoo defender Adil Abd Rahman denied them.

Then in the stoppage-time, Angel Carrascosa Munoz had a wonderful chance to level the score but his shot hits the crossbar.
