Gallardo on target as Blues register narrow win

New Radiant snatched a narrow win against Club Valencia in the ongoing Male’ League by beating them 1-0. New Radiant’s Spanish forward Adrian Gallardo scored the solitary goal of the match. The 

During the opening minutes of the game, neither of the team created clear cut chances but as the game grew older there were flurry of chances for both of the teams.

Few minutes before half hour mark, Gallardo’s shot from a very tight angle goes straight into the Keeper Faisal. Two minutes later Ali Fasir fired in a shot which went inches wide of the goal. He had another attempt on goal but his header goes wide of the goal as well. Nine minutes before the break, New Radiant had another decent chance to score but Stevan Markovic’s header goes over the bar.

In the 43rd minute Omodu Godfrey West missed a glorious chance to score but his shot from inside the box goes over the bar. The first half ended goalless with New Radiant dominating for the larger part of the half.

Just after the restart, Muslih and Omodu Godfrey West had chances to score for Club Valencia but both shots were saved by New Radiant Keeper Imran.

Seven minutes later, Ali Fasir set up Hamza with a decent chance to score but his shot goes wide and three minutes later Hamza had another attempt on goal, this time his shot went across the face of goal.

Ahmed Rilwan had a decent chance to break the deadlock when he penetrated through New Radiant defence from left side but his run was stopped by New Radiant Keeper Imran.

Few minutes after that attack from Valencia, New Radiant found the much needed breakthrough in the 77th minute when Keeper Faisal blocked the shot from Hamza and the rebounded ball fell to Adrian Gallardo unmarked inside the box, and he made no mistake firing the shot into the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Five minutes from time, Ahmed Rilwan missed a crucial chance to level the score when Omodu Godfrey West’s brilliantly ran down the right side and pass the ball from inside the box but Rilwan’s shot from close range hits the side netting.

With this win against Club Valencia, New Radiant consolidated their place at the top of the table with 9 points from 3 games. Club Valencia stay second from bottom with 1 point from 3 games.

Club Valencia will play Club Eagles in the next game of Male’ League on 12th April 2017 at 1600hrs.
