Bengaluru FC pleased with “difficult” win

Bengaluru FC defender John James Johnson said he is happy with a job well done after his side’s “difficult” win over Maziya SR in Tuesday’s AFC Cup clash. The English defender Johnson scored the only goal of the match in the last second of the game.

“We were working very hard in the game, and we had the most clear scoring chances and we deserved the win”.

Bengaluru FC dominated the match but found Maziya difficult to break down and, with just over 10 seconds remaining, Johnson made his name on the score sheet at the expense of Maziyas goalkeeper Pavel Matiashs mistake.

“We kept pushing till the end, and I think we deserved the goal”.

Bengaluru have now opened up a three-point lead at the top of Group E after claiming six points from their opening two 2017 AFC Cup fixtures.

“Everyone is happy and we get more confident to take this three points to the next game”.

Bengaluru FC will host Dhaka Abahoni in their next AFC Cup match on 18th April 2017.
