Male’, MALDIVES – Hussain Shimaz scored a brace against Mahibadhoo Sports Club to secure a top six place in the league for Victory with a comfortable win by 2-1 today.

Hussain Shimaz scored the opening goal in the 19th minute from a wonderful volley inside the box. His first shot hits the woodwork and put it into the goal from the rebounded ball.

Three minutes before the break Awilo delivered a good ball to Nihan but Mahibadhoo players cleared the ball from the box.

In the 49th minute Awilo made a good shot inside the box but keeper Jazlan blocked it.

Five minutes later referee awarded a penalty to Victory when Viktor was brought down inside the box. Mahibadhoo keeper Jazlan saved the spot kick from Viktor.

Shimaz doubled the lead in the 59th minute from a fantastic header from a cross taken by Awilo from the right flank.

In the 65th minute Midhuhath made a good shot on target but keeper cleared it for a corner.

In the 75th minute Mahibadhoo’s Tahi scored a goal from the spot when referee awarded a penalty for them after a handball from Ali Shareef.

With this win Victory lies in the fourth position of the league with 17 points from 12 matches. League leaders New Radiant are with 33 points from 12 matches.

Club Eagles will play against BG Sports tonight at 2100 hours.
