Maldives drops 14 places

Male', MALDIVES - Maldives dropped 14 positions in the world ranking announced today. Maldives cost the huge slant after the defeat by Seychelles last month.

According to December’s ranking, Afghanistan heads the region at 140th position with 184 points. India lies in the 154th position with 141 positions and in the third of the region Maldives is at 163rd position with 120 points.

Bangladesh on fourth position of the SAARC region with 116 points at 164th position. SriLanka on 169th position with 90 points while Nepal and Pakistan are at 172nd position with 86 points.

Bhutan lies on the bottom of the region in the 207th position with nil points.

All the regional countries showed a decrease on rankings in this month compared to November.

If we had been beaten by Iran instead of Seychelles, we would not be seeing this sort of dip in the rankings. FAM thought they could get a few supporters by thrashing Seychelles in both games. Epic fail.

This is what i said when Maldives played and lost against lower ranked (but a strong team) Seychelles!!! Anyway does anyone has any idea about our new coach??? I have heard enough times that "next week" things will be finalized, are they still waiting for "next week" to arrive???!!! :: @ Imma i totally agree with your comment!!!

Nepal can easily thrash maldives.Maldives and nepal should play one friendly match in neutral venue.
