Hard fought three points

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Valencia managed to get difficult three points against Victory Sports Club after beating them by 3-2 in Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League tonight.

Valencia’s Mirchev missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock from a header inside the box, which went wide.

A minute later Victory’s keeper Tholal was forced to make another good save to stop the header from Mirchev.

Valencia’s newly signed midfielder Akram Abdul Ghani opened the scoring in the 13th minute from a wonderful free kick out side the box which hits the far bottom corner of the net.

Fifteen minutes later Victory’s Awilo missed a golden opportunity to level the game from a header inside the box but shot it wide.

A minute before the break Victory’s Ahmed Niyaz levels the score from a good volley inside the box. He controls the ball from his chest and shot it into the bottom corner of the net.

Kaka took the lead for Victory in the 59th minute from a thunderbolt shot just out side the box that hits the roof of the net.

In the last 20 minutes Victory played with ten players when referee sent off Abdoul Kader Outtara with a second yellow card after a foul he committed on Rilwan.

Ahmed Rilwan levels the game with a terrific shot inside the box. He controls the pass from his chest and put it into the far bottom corner of the net.

Keeper Tholal was forced to stop another good shot from Ziyan and Niyaz made another shot from the rebounded ball but keeper saves it.

Mirchev took the lead for Valencia fin the 79th from a descent header inside the box from a well-taken cross from Akram.

Club Eagles will play against TC Sports Club tomorrow night at 2200 hours.

A well deserved win for Valencia. Should have wrapped up the match within the first 30 minutes with the chances they created. Anyway hats off to Victory for fighting back and putting Valencia under pressure. At the end of the end the better team won the match. Congra Valencia.
