Easy win for Maziya

Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation Club came from behind to beat AYL by 5-1 in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League. Asadhulla Abdulla scored twice against AYL and Ahmed Nashid and Ashad Ali managed to put their names on the score sheet.

In the 5th minute of the game Mohamed Irufan penetrated the defense line and made a good shot inside the box but keeper Ziyazan saved it.

AYL broke the deadlock in the 8th minute from a wonderful shot inside the box from a free kick from Solah.

In the 27th minute Ahmed Ameez awarded a penalty for Maziya when Ajuwad brought down Asadhulla inside the box. Asadhulla leveled the game from the penalty.

Maziya doubled the lead in the first minute of the second half from a wonderful header from Asadhulla inside the box. It was his 18th goal of the season.

In the 52nd minute, Asadhulla hits the woodwork inside the box and Ashad Ali’s shot from the rebounded ball was blocked.

In the 57th referee awarded a penalty to AYL when Shifaz brought down Solah inside the box. Keeper Nishah saved the penalty from Moosa Hassan.

Ashad Ali made a stunning header inside the box in the 64th minute but keeper Ziyazan cleared it.

In the 65th minute Nashid scored from a good header inside the box from a decent cross by Samdhooh.

Maziya scored their fourth goal in the 72nd minute from a good header from Ashad Ali.

In the extra time of the match Maziya change the score to 5-1 when keeper Ziyazan scored an own goal. He tried to clear the corner kick from Sadin but it went into the goal.

With this win Maziya advance to the top of the table with 34 points from 13 matches. Second place New Radiant will play against BG Sports tonight.
