Preview: Maziya vs Valencia, Charity Shield 2017

The 2017 Charity Shield showdown between Dhivehi Premier League Champions Maziya and FA Cup Champions Valencia at National Stadium this afternoon comes as first test for the respective coaches who are looking to make an instant impression.

Ahmed Mujthaba, the newly appointed head coach of Valencia will be particularly excited to start his new role on a winning note and to prove his side can be a dominant side. His side secured a slot in the charity shield after winning a trophy for the first time in nearly a decade.

“Though every game is a different, this game will reflect us for the whole football season”.

Mujthaba believes his opponent Maziya, who will face the match to win the trophy for a third time in a row is exceptionally strong.

Maziya Sports and Recreations newly appointed head coach Marjan Sekulovski already is confident on his boys and believes they will show a difference on the pitch.

The Macedonian mastermind Marjan Sekulovski, who is also the first ever foreign coach for Maziya said that his target is to defend the league title and to win FA Cup and Presidents Cup.

“I am very satisfied with the performance of my players in the last 40 days of training including the practice matches we played”.

Maziya and Valencia faced each other three times in the last season where Maziya won twice and the other match was all squared. Maziya scored nine goals against Valencia in those three matches while Valencia managed to score four goals against Maziya.
