Maziya slams former coach and senior players

Maziya Sports and Recreation Club says that they are not going to sign National Team captain Ali Ashfaq for the upcoming football season and the money invested on him in last season was not worth the performance of the player.

Speaking at a press conference held this afternoon at National Stadium, General Secretary of Maziya SR, Abdul Wahhab also slammed their former coach and some senior players for failing to meet their expectations .

“We spent a record amount on signing Ashfaq. But it is not worth as we could not win three titles”.

“Ashafq will not be in Maziya, but I can assure you his absence will not affect the team”.

Wahhab also said the previous coach and senior players should be responsible for failing their target of winning all titles in the last season.

“We aimed for three titles but we couldn’t even reach finals of FA Cup and President’s cup. From management side, everything was done perfectly but our coach and senior players should be responsible for not winning all titles”.

Speaking further, Wahhab said that their target for the upcoming season is to win all titles. He also said that the strongest squad for 2017 will be seen in Maziya.

“We will have the strongest squad. We will have around 12 national players and four foreign players”.

Maziya has appointed former Head Coach of Myanmar’s Yangon United Marjan Sekulovski of Republic of Macedonia.

  1. One can understand a management of a club being unhappy with their coach because ultimately it is his strategy and tactics that decides the fortune of a team. But why ashfaq? A player on the twilight of his glorious career, isn’t it the management that should have known better that it is always a risky business to pour lot of your money on an aging player and expect exceptional performances. He admits to it that he is carrying grave injury midway through the season and that he requires surgery for full recovery. Is Maziya insinuating he is lying instead and that his antics sabotaged their spectacular season? I have just one question for Maziya. What was not done by the managements of Manchester United and Chelsea last season to finish themselves an unexpected 5th and 10th place respectively and instead an unfancied Leicester City lift the premier league trophy?
