Valencia beat all the odds to lift this year’s FA Cup after beating the in-form TC Sports by 3-1 in the final. It was quite a remarkable come back from Valencia, who never won a single game in the final round of recently ended Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.
Valencia took the lead in the 22nd minute through Hassan Adham, who was in top form recently for the club.
After TC failed to capitalise on their chances, Valencia took full advantage and increased their lead in the 38th minute through HussainNihan’s goal.
TC cut the deficit in the 40th minute after Ali Nafiu scored for them and looked like they were back in the game but just four minutes into the second half Valencia restored their two goal lead with another fine strike from Adham.
This is Valencia’s first title in eight years and their first FA Cup triumph in 12 years. Being the champions of FA Cup, Valencia will represent Maldives in next year’s AFC Cup along with league champions Maziya.
