Club Green Streets came from two goals down to level the last match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2018 Round One against New Radiant.
New Radiant started today’s game without their striker Kipson and experience goalkeeper Imran Mohamed whose contract was terminated by the club during this week.
In the first half, Ali Fasir scored twice to give New Radiant comfortable lead before the break. His first one came in the 26th minute and the second one came a few minutes later when Green defender Saaif was found guilty pulling Ali Fasir’s shirt inside the box and Fasir made no mistake converting the spot kick in style. But it was Club Green Streets who shocked the Blues in the second half. They scored twice inside two minutes of the last ten minutes of the game. Avila netted the first one in the 80th minute and Rishwan equalized after two minutes to the first goal from a quickly taken freekick by Avila. Rishwan struck the ball into the net through the legs of Newradiant Goalkeeper Mohamed Faisal to give a hard fought point.
New Radiant could have level the points to Eagles and climb up in the table above Maziya Sports with a win. But they blew the chance as Green Streets held them for a draw.
TC Sports club sits top of the table with 21 points with a game in hand. Eagles who beat Nilandhoo today evening are in second with 20 points. Maziya is in the third place with 19 points while Newradiant is in fourth with 18 points.
