National Team Coach Petar Segrt expressed his focus ahead of SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 semifinal tomorrow saying that he is to protect the President of Football Association of Maldives Bassam Adheel Jaleel. Segrt, who is under critics from local and international media regarding the poor performance of Maldives in the on-going SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 wows to protect Bassam today at the prematch press conference held at Bangladesh Football Federation.
Speaking at the press conference Segrt said that he will stand against anyone who wants the position of Football Association of Maldives.
I (will) protect my President Bassam because brought me. If someone wants his position, I must stand and help my president
Despite Maldives being among the favorites of the tournament, under the helm of Segrt Maldives failed to win a single game so far. Maldives is yet to score its first goal of the tournament as well.

Maldives made it to the semifinal after a toss-coin as Maldives was all squared with Sri Lanka from all aspects. Maldives will face Nepal on Wednesday afternoon in the first semifinal of SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018.
