First insulted, now humiliated. What more to offer?

Within weeks of his appointment as Maldives head coach Petar Segrt insulted us by dropping Ali Ashfaq and stripping off captaincy from Ashad Ali. And today he humiliated us by taking Maldives to the semi final of SAFF Championship without winning a game and scoring a goal and losing to an under 23 Indian team that consists of mostly under 19 players.

Since our participation in the competition in 1997 we never finished the group stage without scoring a goal. And Maldives is one of the best goal scoring teams in the history of this competition.

But two games no win and no goals scored, we are extremely lucky to be in the semi final courtesy of a legitimate Sri Lankan goal incorrectly ruled out for offside and a fair toss of a coin.

Petar Segrt talked about taking us to the World Cup in four year’s time. But the best he can do right now is resign and leave.
