Asian Cup Qualifiers: MALDIVES FINISHED IN STYLE

Maldives cruise past Bhutan in their final Asian Cup Qualifiers Group Stage campaign in Group D with a massive win against helpless Bhutan by 7-0.

Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) scored brilliant 4 Goals, while Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), Ibrahim Waheed and Hussain Shifau Yoosuf each scored a goal.

Ali Fasir (Sentey) had a glorious opportunity from the spot to put Maldives infront in the first half. But his Penalty effort went wide.

It was Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) and Mohamed Arif (Baka) who stoled the hearts of the fan by their endless efforts in good passing game. Both were not selected Maldives lost 3-2 to Singapore in recent friendly match.

Akram Abdul Ghanee captained the team today due to the absence of former captain Ali Ashfaq (Dhaganday) who was omitted from the national team squad by Coach Petar Segrt for not showing up pre-match news conference & Ashad Ali (Adubarey) who announced his retirement from the national team today.

Maldives were already out of the Cup before the game. Oman topped the group while Palestine came second and qualified for Asian Cup 2019 in UAE.
