U21 CUP: MAZIYA 0 – 0 EAGLES

Maziya held Club Eagles to a surprise 0-0 draw in Youth Championship on Monday afternoon, denying the defending champions to secure early spot on the final. Chances for the final are still open for all four teams as the match ended all squared.

Speaking after the game, Ahmed Suzayr, Head Coach of Maziya Youth Team showed his delightfulness as his side performed up to his expectations. But he noted the tiredness of his boys as the teams has to play a game every other day.

“Desoite the tiredness, everything went according to my plan.”

“This is the second game in 48 hours. It is not easy, but they did well”.

With a point against defending Champions,  Maziya is leading the point table with four points, from two games. Eegles has also won the four points from two games but they are on the second position with goal difference.

Club Eagles coach Ahmed Shakir said that his confident that his side will win the last game and make it to the final.

“I am confident that my side will win the last group game match and will advance to the final”.

Eagles will play United Victory in their last group stage game. United Victory and Thinadhoo are yet to win a point. Both sides will face each other this evening.

Four teams namely Club Eagles, Maziya SR, Thinadhoo and United Victory will battle each other for Youth Championship 2017 crown. The top two teams after six round robin matches will advance to the final of the tournament. The final match is scheduled to play at the National Stadium on Friday, 29th of December.
