FA Cup: Blues win after comeback over TC

New Radiant came from behind to beat TC Sports to win FA Cup. This is the 12th FA Cup title for the Blues.

The game was decided on penalty shootout where Blues won by 6-4.

It was 2-0 at half time for TC Sports but Blues leveled the game in the second half to go for extra 30 minutes to decide.

Stewart Cornelius fired the opener just five minutes to kick off and later doubled the score from the spot.

Blues came strong in the second half with goals from veterans striker Ibrahim Fazeel and Ali Fasirs penalty kick.

The 90 minutes ended with 2-2 and as neither side could score in the extra two halves, the game was decided on penalty shootout.

Ibrahim Fazeel, Ali Fasir, Akram A Gani and Mohamed Rasheed succeed their penalties while Hussein Eldors penalty was saved by TC Sports goalkeeper Limbu Kiran Kumar.

On the other-hand, Stewart Cornelius and Ahmed Suhails penalty was saved by Imran Mohamed. Eissa Elmaghraby and Khalil Gamal succeeded their penalties for TC Sports.

TC Sports and New Radiant will again meet on First semi Final of Presidents Cup next week. New Radiant has won all five games against TC Sports this season. Presidents Cup semi final will be the sixth encounter between the two sides. Both the teams has been qualified for the AFC Cup 2018.
