The Blues go top after humiliating Kudahuvadhoo

New Radiant goes two points clear at the top after humiliating Kudahuvadhoo 6-0 in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League at the Galolhu National Stadium on Sunday.

Ali Ashfaq netted a brace for the Blues while Ali Fasir, Adrian Gallardo, Hassan Adhuham and Stevan Markovic also got their names on the score sheet.

The result saw, New Radiant picked up 15 points from 6 games, two ahead of both Maziya and TC Sports Club in second and third place respectively.

Meanwhile, Kudahuvadhoo are still at the bottom of the table with just one point from opening six games as they are yet to win a game.

New Radiant bossed the proceedings and were unlucky not to be ahead in the 11th minute when Gallardo had a decent chance from inside the box but his shot went over the bar.

A minute later, Ibrahim Fazeel had another decent chance from inside the box but his shot was blocked by Kudahuvadhoo keeper Abdulla Yazeed.

Then in 18th minute, Gallardo finally broke the deadlock with a decent strike from inside the box.

Six minutes later, the Blues were celebrating again as Fasir made it 2-0 after receiving a decent pass from Fazeel.

Then on 37 minutes, Ashfaq wasted another good chance for the Blues as he dragged his shot over the bar.

In the 38th minute, Akram Abdul Ghani forced a decent save from Yazeed before Gallardo missed another chance a minute later as he headed over the bar from a decent cross from Fasir.

A rare opportunity for Kudahuvadhoo in the 40th minute saw Adam Shaheem forced a decent save from the Blues keeper Mohamed Faisal with a strike from outside the box.

Then Gallardo missed another wonderful opportunity as he hits the post with a decent effort from close range with three minutes before the break.

The start of the second half was characterized by number of missed chances for the Blues, as first Ibrahim Fazeel forced a decent save out of Yazeed in the 49th minute before Ashfaq wasted another good opportunity to increase the lead when he dragged the shot over the bar on 53 minutes. Five minutes later, Ashfaq then fired wide from inside the box.

However, Ashfaq made up for his earlier misses with a decent header from inside the box to change the score to 3-0 on 62 minutes before Hamza had his shot cleared in front of the goal by Kudahuvadhoo players, five minutes later.

Then on 69 minutes, Yazeed made a superb save to deny a stunning header from Stevan Markovic through a brilliant free-kick by Ashfaq.

In the 72nd minute, Ashfaq managed to grab his brace and the Blues fourth goal of the match after receiving a decent pass from Gallardo.

Moments later, in the 75th minute, Hassan Adhuham made it 5-0 shortly coming on as a substitute and there was still time for another goal for the Blues as the defender Stevan Markovic netted the sixth goal of the match to sealed the win with six minutes from time.
