Green Streets go second after clinching a narrow win against Kudahuvadhoo

Club Green Streets go second place in the league standings after clinching a narrow 1-0 win against Kudahuvadhoo in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.
The result saw, Club Green Streets climb to second spot with 9 points from 4 games, two ahead of TC Sports Club and one behind the leaders Maziya but fourth-placed New Radiant could pip them to second place if the Blues win their game against Maalhos.

Meanwhile, Kudahuvadhoo are still without a win as they have only one point after four games and remained at the bottom of the table.

Neither team managed to create any clear-cut chances in the opening 30 minutes, with Kudahuvadhoo playing very defensive game.

The first real chance of the half fell to Club Green Streets defender Ali Shamis inside 18 minutes but he failed to find the target as his attempt went wide from inside the box.

Then, in the injury-time of the first half, Green Streets finally broke the deadlock when an unmarked William Macko received the ball through a poor headed clearance by Ibrahim Rashad as he tried to clear the cross from Shamis down the right side.

Kudahuvadhoo tried to get back into the game in the opening minutes of the second half, but Afonja Jibola’s shot was blocked by Green Streets defenders.

Just around hour mark, Kudahuvadhoo’s Cristian Dodzi wasted another chance when he headed over the bar from a free-kick by Ushamath before Ahmed Rasheed wasted another chance when he headed straight at keeper Yazeed.

Then on 77 minutes, Hassan Ibrahim had the best chance of the second half for Kudahuvadhoo when he hits the cross bar with a decent strike from outside the box.
Cristian Dodzi had one last chance for Kudahuvadhoo with a decent strike from inside the box in the 90th minute but he couldn’t find a way past keeper Jun Kochi.
