TC held to a goalless draw by Milandhoo

TC Sports Club were held to a goalless draw by Milandhoo in Wednesday afternoon’s Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League game at the Galolhu National Stadium.

After the result, TC Sports Club find themselves two points behind the leaders Maziya in second place with seven points after four games, one ahead of both New Radiant and Club Green Streets on third, fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Milandhoo are still on seventh spot with two points after four games.

It was a match of few clear cut chances with Cornelius Stewart going close in the second minute with decent free-kick from outside the box as he forced a decent save from Milandhoo keeper Mohamed Imran who punched it out for a corner kick.

Few minutes later, Mohamed Azzam tried his luck from the distance but his weak shot went straight into the gloves of Imran.

Then on 34 minutes, Milandhoo’s Adam Imran hits the post with a decent strike from inside the box before at the other end Stewart’s dangerous ball to Ibrahim Mahudhee was dealt superbly by Imran as he raced out of his penalty area to complete the clearance.

After the break, the match followed just like the opening half with very few chances as both managers made a number of substitutions as the game grew older.

Just around hour mark, Adam Imran missed another decent chance when his close range header was deflected of a defender for a corner kick.

Then in the 80th minute, TC had a decent chance through a free-kick from Mohamed Azzam from outside the box but he couldn’t find any way past Imran as he directed the shot straight at Milandhoo keeper.

Ishan Ibrahim had two half chances for Milandhoo from outside the box, the first attempt going wide from left side before his another shot from outside the box went straight into the gloves of TC keeper Kiran.

There were flurry of chances for Ibrahim Mahudhee, Ali Nafiu and Azzam but all of them failed to find the target and as a result the game ended goalless.

It was a well-deserved point for Milandhoo as they were rock solid at the back throughout the game just like their previous two games against Maziya and Club Green Streets, despite losing unluckily on both occasions with late goals.
