Maalhos came back twice to level the score as they recorded second straight draw in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League as they finished 2-2 against Kudahuvadhoo at the Galolhu National Stadium on Friday evening.
The result leaves Maalhos in sixth place on 2 points, one ahead of both Milandhoo and Kudahuvadhoo in seventh and eighth place respectively.
Kudahuvadhoo got off to a flying start when Ibrahim Ushamath put them in front after just five minutes on the clock.
Ali Haafiz threatened to level the score for Maalhos in the 23rd minute when he hits the post from a decent strike from inside the box.
Although, Angel Carrascoa Munoz leveled the score in the 34th minute from a penalty. The referee awarded the spot kick when Angel Munoz was brought down inside the box by Kudahuvadhoo keeper Abdulla Yazeed.
Then on 44 minutes, Kudahuvadhoo were unlucky not score from the penalty as Mohamed Ismail’s penalty was saved by Maalhos keeper Ibrahim Zameer.
However, they made it 2-1 after six minutes into the second half when Adam Shaheem’s cross found the back of the net deflecting off Ali Haafiz.
Ali Waseem nearly found an equalizer in the 61st minute as he forced a decent save from Yazeed with an effort from inside the box.
At the other end, Maalhos keeper Zameer was forced to make a save to deny Djibola a minute later.
Then on 71 minutes, Ahmed Arif had another chance for Maalhos but his shot went over the bar.
Five minutes later, Munoz made it 2-2 as he netted from close range after receiving a brilliant cross from Ahmed Mohamed.
The closing stages produced another couple of opportunities for Kudahuvadhoo, although Irufaan Adam missed the target from inside the box and Shaheem’s strike from the distance went over the bar.
