Shiyaz delighted with Kudahuvadhoo’s first match, despite defeat

Kudahuvadhoo coach Mohamed Shiyaz said he was satisfied with his team’s first match in the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League, despite defeat to defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation on Friday. Keric Andrej scored twice as Maziya stormed to a 4-0 victory over Minivan Championship winners.

Shiyaz told in his post match news conference that he was especially happy at how his side had competed in their first game, particularly when the opponent is one of the strongest sides. But he noted that Premier league is not of their level to compete.

“I am very happy with their performance and their commitment”

“I don’t believe that we can compete at this level yet. My boys need more time and more experience to play at this level”.

Mohamed Shiyaz, the former New Radiant coach who led Kudahuvadhoo to win the Minivan Championship said that his side will give their best in the upcoming games.

“Especially when the league will last for three or four months, we will face a lot of difficulties”.

“I know we have to struggle a lot, but my boys will do their best”.

Kudahuvadhoo will face TC Sports in their next game on Saturday evening.
