Easy win for Green Street

Club Green Streets kept their top four hopes alive after clinchinga 3-0 win over United Victory in the ongoing STO Male’ League 2017.

Ahmed Rasheed had the ball in the back of the net for Club Green Streets on 16 minutes, but the goal was disallowed for offside, and Ahmed Rasheed did score a legitimate goal just around half hour mark.

The score remained 1-0 at half-time as both team’s failed to create further chances in the opening half.

Club Green Streets almost double their lead three minutes after the break but a superb save from United Victory keeper RuslanAmirov denied a stunning header from Ahmed Rasheed after receiving a fine cross from Ahmed Hassan.

Ahmed Rasheed double his team’s lead in the 76th minute with a strike from close range after capitalizing on a poor clearance from United Victory Keeper Ruslan from initial shot by Ahmed Nizam.

Then on 87 minutes, Ahmed Rasheed had another chance to increase the lead but his shot was punched for a corner by Keeper Ruslan.

Two minutes later, Mohamed Shafraz had a decent chance to pull one back for United Victory but his shot from inside the box went straight into the gloves of keeper Jun Kochi.

Seconds later, at the other end, Sobol Illia squandered a decentchance to score when he headed straight at United Victory keeper Ruslan.

But he made no mistake when presented another glorious opportunity to score in stoppage-time, from a penalty for a foul by United Victory Keeper Ruslan on Yoosuf Shuaauinside the box; smashing his shot into the bottom corner of the net.

The win lift them back to third spot in the league with 21 points from 12 games, one ahead of Club Eagles on fourth.

Club Eagles could regain third place if they managed to get a point from their game against TC Sports Club on Sunday night.

Maziya will play Club Valencia on Sunday at 1600hrs
