Maziya SR is set to gear up for stiffest test to qualify for the next round of AFC Cup says head coach Marjan Sekulovski. Maziya will host Bangladeshi Champions Dhaka Abahani on Wednesday afternoon.
The first leg between the two teams held a month ago ended in favor of Maziya with goals from Umair and Assadulla.
Speaking ahead of the crucial match against Dhaka Abahani, Sekulovski said it’s time for his side to get prepared for the knockout round. Despite having to play in a tight schedule, coach Sekulovski noted that his side well prepared for the game. Match against Abahani in the AFC Cup is the eighth match for Maziya in thirty days.
“We don’t have any technical or tactical problems, the only problem is the fixtures, but my boys will be ready”.
“My players will give their maximum to win the match and to qualify for the next round. Tomorrow is our first step towards the next round”.
Only one team from the group will be qualified and chances are open only for Maziya and Bengaluru FC from the group. Mohan Bagan and Dhaka Abahani is already out of the race even with having two more games in hand.
“I believe in my players and I am fully confident that they will come on the pitch fully prepared to win match”.
“It’s not important what I say today in the press conference. What is important is what my boys do on the pitch tomorrow”.
Maziya is placed second in the position behind Bengaluru FC with both teams with nine points from four games. Bengaluru FC is ahead of Maziya in point table based on head-to-head.
