United Victory grabs their first win in the league

United Victory beat Club Valencia by 1-0 to move upto sixth place of Male’ League point table.

Naavy Mohamed’s first half strike was enough to earn this important victory against Club Valencia.

Coming into this game, United Victory were looking to clinch their first points as they were at the bottom and Club Valencia were at seventh place.

United Victory’s Zivkovic had the first attempt on target as he sent in a decent header straight into the gloves of keeper Faisal after 14 minutes.

Two minutes later, Omodu Godfrey West had the first attempt on target for Valencia but his shot was punched for a corner kick by United Victory keeper Ruslan.

In the 19th minute, Valencia had another decent chance to score but the free kick from Ahmed Wisham went over the bar.

Naavy Mohamed open the scoring for United Victory at half hour mark after receiving a pass from Ibrahim Shafraz from inside the box.

Fifteen minutes after the break, Ibrahim Shafraz had a decent chance to extend the lead but his shot went straight to the keeper Faisal.

In the 65th minute, Club Valencia’s best chance was created by second half substitute Hamdhan as his cross from the right side went across the face of the goal.

Two minutes later, Omodu Godfrey West’s effort from inside the box was blocked by United Victory defenders.

Club Valencia relentlessly pressed but could not find an equalizer as United Victory held on to their narrow lead.

After this loss against United Victory, Club Valencia are at the bottom of the table and they are winless in the opening five games of the league.
Victory Sports Club will play against Maziya in the next game of Male’ League on Monday at 1600hrs.
