Abahani vs Maziya: Mamic ready to pass “hurdles”

Dhaka Abahani Coach Drago Mamić says his side is ready for the challenge against Maziya in the first leg of AFC Cup group stage. Dhaka Abahani, Champions of Bangladesh will host Maziys SR of Maldives today and the match is scheduled to kick off at 17:10hours Maldivian time. This is the first time Dhaka Abahani will be featuring in the AFC Cup. 

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, former Maldivian National Team Coach Mamic said his side will give the best to achieve good result and stay on track to pass the hurdles. 

“The match tomorrow (today) is very important for us because AFC competition is very high in Asia. For Bangladesh, we will give our best to achieve good result and stay in the track to pass the hurdles”.

Mamić noted that his boys are mentally prepared and the newly joined players for his side have strengthened his team. 

“The players are prepared mentally”. 

“We have collected some players from others and now I will get one match to see them. Our finishers will be sharper and, I hope to put a good show and win the match”. 

Maldives has won the third place of AFC Challenge Cup 2014 under the helm of Drago Mamić; a Serbian-born Croatian mastermind. He has earlier coached high profile teams such as Persib Bandung of Indonesia and Churchill Brothers of India.
