Unbeaten TC storms into the final

TC Sports Club storms into the final of ongoing Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup in Bangladesh after beating Nepal’s Manang by 1-0 today.

TC could have taken the lead half way into the first half had youngster Ibrahim Mahudhee maintain his cool in the penalty area. A well timed low cross from Nafiu reached the sprinted Ibrahim, whose attempt to tap in the ball went over the cross bar.

It was TC that controlled the first half and later foreign striker saw his long range effort missed the target nearly.

Unlike first half Nepal’s Manang controlled the game in the second half and put TC under pressure in more than one occasion.

The game was heading to extra time when Manang’s Keeper’s attempt to fist away Azzam’s cross hit skipper Nafiu and crossed the goal line to give TC the lead with just seven minutes remaining to play.

TC held to their lead and ensured their path to the final.

  1. Nizambe’s effort should be recognized for what it is worth whatever may happen in the final, for this is the first time a local coach has taken a club side so far into an international club tournament. Suzain and Mohan may have done wonders in the domestic cup competitions but this will be up there as one of the finest by a local coach and dwarf all his peers’ achievements. Well done TC. All you need is another 90 minutes of composure and hard work to write your name in the history books.
